John Flamson: Reunion Memory, Class of 1973 Geography alumni find their way back to Liverpool
On 12 July 1973, fresh faced and enthusiastic, they graduated in BA (Hons) and BSc (Hons) Geography. Now, fifty years later, twenty of these graduates – a little less fresh faced but equally enthusiastic – known as Geoggers 73, made their way back to Liverpool to celebrate this significant anniversary.

It’s National Volunteers’ Week!
National Volunteers’ Week has come around again and at the University we are excited to celebrate the wonderful volunteers who have given their time to support us in the past 12 months. Just this year more than 1200 volunteers have donated more than 6800 hours of their time – it’s been a very busy year for our alumni volunteers!

Volunteer spotlight: Jen Kehlenbeck
Since graduating with an MA in English Literature in 2022, Jen has been involved in volunteering activities at the University. In this Volunteer Spotlight, she reflects on the ‘Your Futures’ panel event she took part in earlier this year, where she shared her insight and advice as a recent graduate entering the job market with current students.

Volunteer spotlight: Nicola Harris
Nicola Harris (LLB Hons 2004) first heard about the Liverpool Law Clinic from Professor Debra Morris, former Dean of the School of Law and Social Justice, in 2016 when it was still being set up at the School. The clinic then opened shortly after and Nicola has been involved ever since.

Sloman Loungers 2023 reunion
This spring, the Alumni team was delighted to welcome back the Sloman Loungers, a group of graduates from the late 1960s who named themselves after the Sloman Lounge in the Guild of Students, where they used to spend a lot of time during their university days.

Let's invest in our planet together this #EarthDay
As we prepare for Earth Day on Saturday 22 April 2023, we are asking our global alumni community to make a pledge for change towards a sustainable future. Earth Day is celebrated to raise awareness about the importance and urgency of environmental protection and this year the theme is ‘invest in our planet’; highlighting the importance of dedicating our time, resources, and energy to solving climate change and other environmental issues.

Share your Eurovision memories!
In May this year, Liverpool will proudly host the Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of Ukraine. Our University community together with the city of Liverpool will be ‘United by Music’. As well as Eurovision events taking place across the city, the University will host its own Eurovision Festival across campus.
