World-first medical procedure to heal 800kg rhino's broken leg

A world-first medical procedure was performed at Knowsley Safari and the Liverpool Vet School to treat Amara, a southern white rhino with a broken leg. A team of specialists conducted a five-hour surgery, including key-hole wrist surgery, and applied a full limb cast.
