Dental Alumni Association

The Liverpool Dental Alumni Association is believed to be the oldest dental alumni association in the country.

Originally established as the Past Dental Students' Association in 1922 by Professor W H Gilmour, the third Dean of the Dental School and the first professor of Dentistry in the UK.

Today, there are 1,800 members, who keep in touch with their alma mater through an annual newsletter, reunion and dinner. There is also an annual Dental Staff/Student/Alumni Golf Competition, usually played at Royal Birkdale. Our series of meetings and lectures contribute towards CPD, and we have held joint symposia with the Vets Alumni Association on subjects of mutual interest.

The Association has a close relationship with the School of Dentistry, supporting its activities, particularly in the form of financial support through its investment portfolios. This very tangible level of support is used to contribute to the School’s research activities, and also to provide undergraduate prizes each year.

If you're interested in joining the Dentistry Alumni Association, please contact Jan Vicary, Membership Secretary, on +44 (0)151 794 5589 or email: jvicary@liverpool.ac.uk.
