Suzie Thompson has joined the University as the new Director of Development and Alumni Relations. Suzie was previously the Director of Development and Alumni Relations at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM).

Liverpool Football Club's (LFC) Divock Origi recently announced his new scholarship in partnership with the University of Liverpool. The Divock Origi Scholarship is available to new undergraduate students from Liverpool with courses starting in September 2021.

The University recently marked the 30th anniversary of the John Lennon Memorial Scholarships with a special online event in which past scholars thanked the Ono Lennon family for their support.
University Marine Biological Station set to celebrate 130th anniversary
The Marine Biological Station, located in Port Erin on the Isle of Man, will be celebrating its 130th anniversary in 2022. Rushen Heritage Trust is planning a series of activities to celebrate the anniversary of the Marine Biology Laboratory, including an exhibition, book and short film.

Online MBA receives accreditation from the internationally regarded AMBA
The University of Liverpool’s fully online MBA has received accreditation from the internationally regarded Association of MBAs (AMBA). This follows on from the award of AMBA accreditation for the on campus portfolio of MBAs which was achieved in November 2020.

Magical Mystery Tour of Liverpool
This special online event was hosted by the Music Department's Dr Mike Jones earlier this month. Mike was joined by alumni, Bill Heckle, who runs the world-famous Cavern Club, and Colin Hall, music promoter & journalist, to discuss The Beatles' legacy on tourism in Liverpool. Obituary
In Memoriam: Emeritus Professor David Carter (1953 - 2021)
The University of Liverpool was saddened to hear of the passing of Emeritus Professor David Carter. Dave, as he was known to staff and students alike, helped develop what ultimately became the Astrophysics Research Institute at Liverpool John Moores University, and taught on the Joint Degree in Astrophysics between LJMU and the University of Liverpool.
