Why did you choose the MBA programme at Liverpool?

I chose to study an MBA at the University of Liverpool as it perfectly suited my requirements at that time, due to the location, fees, course duration and admission to experienced students. I was already a working professional at that time and I was looking to get into a university that offered MBA to working professionals so this totally was what I was looking for in a Masters programme.

The course covered all the major subjects that I was interested in, with an internal perspective, and some of the modules were only available at the University of Liverpoool, so that really motivated me to opt for Liverpool. The dissertation at the end of the course gave us a chance to research the topic of our choice.

I attended a Meet and Greet session before joining the University, which was really helpful as it gave us the complete picture on how exciting and interesting a student life would be at the University and offered a great chance of socialising with the other international students.

Which aspects of the course do you think have been most beneficial to your career development?

I really think some of the modules covered were excellent, such as International Business Management, Project Management, Managing Change and Managing Financial Resources. These modules helped a lot in my career journey and also boosted my confidence.

The best part of the programme was the projects I worked on which gave me practical knowledge rather that only class room training. My group work included a mix of students from overseas and contributed to the creation of innovative ideas, developed strategic solutions to a project, both of which helped to widen my knowledge during project sessions and presentations.

The amazing mentors we had during our course were Roger Levermore and Elaine Eades who were always there to advise and counsel us at every stage. I am glad that I am still in touch with them and they have always offered their guidance whenever I have needed it.

The dissertation was best part of the course as I had worked on something that I was really excited about. My topic was on Advertising in Indian Fashion Market. This involved lot of researching, writing and covering a wide topic as we had never put together our thoughts on a scale this large.

During our course of study we were exposed to international topics and studied with overseas students which opened up our knowledge on international issues and gave us a good global exposure like never before.

Can you describe your current role?

I am a Digital and Social Media specialist with more than 9 years experience in managing a plethora of top Indian and international brands. I am working on few IT campaigns currently, covering the digital and the social media aspect. My expertise is in areas including: Market Strategy; Market Research; Social Media Marketing, Social Media Planning, Public Relation, Digital Marketing, Analytics and Content Development.

I recently won the ‘Women Digital Leader Award 2018’ by She Leads Summit & Awards 2018 which is annual leadership conference to discuss of women’s leadership on a global level.

What is your favourite memory of Liverpool?

This was my first time that I have ever stayed away from my family. My most favourite part would be the memories at the University accomodation ‘Melville Grove’. Though I never stayed there, I used to visit my batchmates almost daily. We had the most amazing time during weekends where we all used to meet and explore new places, visit the city center, shop, party, celebrate functions and festivals and cooked together as we learnt cuisines of different places.

This place was where we made friends for lifetime and they have now become a part of my family. Liverpool makes me nostalgic even today! I will always cherish all the fond memories that we have made in Liverpool.
