What was your best experience while studying your course at the University of Liverpool?
All of it – I loved every second of uni and would do it all again. The city itself is perfect, the people were friendly, the places to go were endless. The University is beautiful and gave me some of the best experiences of my life as well as a fascinating degree.
Why did you choose Liverpool?
My first choice was Leeds but I decided that I didn’t want to be so close to home (I’m from Bingley) so I looked at other close universities but I had to go to a Russell Group Red Brick so that limited my choices and I just went for it. I didn’t even visit until the day I started!
Which aspects of your course do you think have been the most beneficial to your career development?
When we did Archaeology modules we did a lot of work with Excel which gave me a really good grounding in data analysis and spreadsheets. I also think the research for my essays helped me a lot to get creative in discovering different ways of finding out things and using my findings effectively.
Can you describe your current role?
I work in Marketing with the Intermediary Team, we promote the Leeds Building Society brand, products and criteria to brokers and IFA’s giving them the knowledge they need for placing business with us.
Do you have any top tips to share with future and current students?
Throw yourself into everything, even if you only do a couple of times, university is the place to learn who you are and what you love and it will be over before you know it.
Describe in three words what Liverpool means to you.
