Volunteer spotlight: Josh Dally
Posted on: 30 May 2023 by Development and Alumni Relations team in 2023
Josh Dally is a recent Politics graduate (BA Hons 2021) who took part in a ‘Your Futures’ event organised by the University earlier this year, in which he shared his experience of entering the job market as a young graduate and shared advice and tips with our current students.
Josh works as a Community Employment Specialist and helps young adults with job hunting, CV-writing, interviews, and more, so this panel event was a perfect fit for him!
“I thoroughly enjoyed the event, both chatting to recent graduates about their studies, aims, and trajectory, as well as being a part of the panel. The atmosphere was great, with wonderful food and music. It was really insightful hearing other people's graduate experience into the world of work, and I hope that my experience and advise were both interesting and beneficial for those who attended”, Josh commented.
When asked about his motivation for deciding to give his time to take part in the event, Josh replied: “I loved my time at the University of Liverpool, so it was a no-brainer for me to get involved with the panel. It was a great opportunity to give back to the University.”
Reflecting on his time as a student, Josh says it’s difficult to pick a favourite moment, but if he had to choose, he would pick the moment he submitted his dissertation: “As a piece of work that I put a lot of time, energy, and enthusiasm into, it became a document that I was very proud of. After sending it in, whilst it was somewhat a relief, it was a very proud moment that was celebrated with some of my closest friends.”
We would like to thank Josh and all young alumni who choose to give their time to the University to support soon-to-be-graduates in finding their path after completing their studies. Thank you for inspiring our current students!
