Thanks to you: 900 students supported and life-changing research made possible
Thanks to you, more than 900 students have received support through the Student Fund, while your generosity is also helping drive ground-breaking research. Together, you are helping to change lives, transform our city and create a better future for people around the world. Thank you for being part of this difference.
To help shout out about all of the amazing things that have been made possible because of you, we are sharing the 2026 Donor Report.
The report sets out the many ways you have helped the University and our students this year. Inside, you can read about:
- The students you have supported, including Medicine student Maisie’s journey to becoming a doctor and Class of 2026 graduates Joel and Nish on how your support has enabled them to graduate from the University.
- Scholarships making science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) careers possible for disadvantaged students.
- Gifts from our legacy supporters and donations made in memory of a loved ones helping to transform students lives and experiences.
- Life-changing work that is transforming cancer research and care across the North West of England and a novel study exploring global solutions to climate change.
- Two members of our supporter community Caroline and Mat, who share their own reasons for giving.
- And finally, test your University of Liverpool knowledge with a quiz, just for fun.

Your support has truly changed lives, including Maisie's, who said: "With the support of people like you, who believe students like me deserve to be here, lives are changed every single day. Thank you."
Speaking about your support, Vice-Chancellor, Professor Tim Jones said: “Every gift, no matter the size, is helping students from all backgrounds access support through the Student Fund, so they can thrive at the University.
“Your generosity is also supporting research that is tackling some of society’s biggest challenges. From funding scholarships to advancing work in areas such as cancer research and climate change, you are helping our students and researchers pursue new ideas and discoveries that will improve lives far beyond our campus.
“As both a graduate and Vice-Chancellor of this University, I am incredibly proud of our generous and supportive community, and I hope you feel proud to be part of it. You are truly making a difference to our students’ lives, our research, the city of Liverpool and beyond.”
