As the days grow lighter, spring in Liverpool offers plenty of reasons to get out and explore. Whether you're after award-winning exhibitions, independent music or a simple walk in the park, we've got events and activities for you!
1. Enjoy the start of spring
Take a stroll through Sefton Park, where lakeside paths and the Palm House offer a peaceful spring setting. Head to Calderstones Park for woodland trails and open green spaces perfect for families and dog walkers.
For waterside views, the Liverpool Waterfront provides a scenic promenade stretching along the River Mersey - ideal for a refreshing spring walk.
2. Easter Family Trail
Saturday 21 March- Monday 20 April
Our beautiful Ness Botanic Gardens will be holding Easter family trails for you and the family to discover. With a trail map to hand you can navigate garden areas and ponder some poetry too.
3. Explore Liverpool's rich history and innovation at the Victoria Gallery & Museum
Step into the Lightbulb moments exhibition and discover the origins of some of the city’s most remarkable discoveries, innovations, and insights. Discover a celebration of Black musicians from Toxteth in the 1950s and 1960s in special exhibition, Toxteth: The Harlem of Europe. And experience the photographic exhibition Sacred Spaces to reflect on the role that belief and community play in our world.
4. Liverpool Sound City 2026
2 and 3 May, venues across Liverpool
Liverpool's leading independent music festival is back this spring, bringing cutting-edge sounds, emerging talent, and unforgettable performances to the city's music venues.
5. Join us for an Italian-focused lecture
Tuesday 21 April, 5.45pm, The Tung Auditorium
Artist, cultural facilitator and educator, Justin Randolph Thompson will deliver this year's Zaina Bequest Lecture focused on subjects of Italian interests. Justin will explore the distance between Black presence and Black representation in Italian Renaissance Art History. He will reflect on virtual exhibitions which examined Black African figures in Italian art and to challenge traditional notions of presence and representation.
The lecture will be followed by an Italian-themed drinks reception.
6. Explore treasure: History Unearthed
Running until 29 March, Treasure: History Unearthed at the Museum of Liverpool is a must-see.
Winner of the Society for Museum Archaeology’s Award for Excellence 2025, the exhibition brings remarkable archaeological discoveries to life, showcasing fascinating objects and the stories behind them.
