Alumni Magazine: Out now
We are delighted to share the latest issue of our Alumni Magazine with you.
In this bumper edition, you’ll be able to reconnect with classmates, enjoy exclusive lectures and explore hundreds of events happening across Liverpool over the next twelve months.
After going fully digital in 2024, we’ve been excited to build on the possibilities of the format this year. You’ll notice a number of new features, including our Discovery Sessions lecture series and a refreshed Events section.
This issue has been made possible thanks to the contributions of more than 500 graduates. A huge thank you to everyone who took part. This truly is a magazine created for our alumni community, by our alumni community. We hope it fills you with the same pride in the University of Liverpool that we feel every day.
It’s time to put the kettle on and settle down with a cup of tea to read through this bumper edition. Enjoy!
Our Alumni Magazine highlights:
- Discovery Sessions: We’ve introduced this new section to bring you and the children in your lives a lecture-like experience with our academics. In this year’s issue, you can watch Dr Owen McAree talk about life-saving drones. Professor Janine Kavanagh also shares a fun lava experiment for children.
- Visit Liverpool: 79 must-see places: We’ve rounded up a huge list of all our favourite places in Liverpool and created weekend itineraries for the city.
- Class Notes: Our favourite part of every issue is reading about where you are now and what careers you went on to enjoy. Thank you to so many of you for sharing your stories in Class Notes and via LinkedIn for Classmates Connect.
- The Listening Booth: Listen to Grammy-Award winning songwriter and producer (and graduate) speaking about his work on Charli xcx’s Brat album.
- Friends reunited: Ready to feel nostalgic? Writers and grads Emma Jane Unsworth and Alison Taylor reminisce about meeting at the University and how their friendship has shaped their lives.
- Neurodivergent voices: We found this candid conversation between an autism researcher and disability advocate fascinating.
- Events: Diaries out – it’s time to book in some top-rate events.
- Then and Now: Campus and student life has changed a lot over the years. We loved looking through these old photos.
- Quiz: We couldn’t not include a quiz! This one will test your knowledge of the city and the University.
- Desert Island Uni Playlists: Listening to your uni days playlists has been incredible and lots of fun to curate. You can listen to the songs that take you back to your uni days via Class Notes.
