Alumni honoured at University's EQ+ Awards

We recently celebrated the exceptional achievements of our graduates at this year’s University of Liverpool EQ+ Awards - a ceremony dedicated to recognising those who are leading the way in equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) both on campus and beyond.
The University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Tim Jones, presented the awards and the event honoured individuals who are breaking down barriers and paving the way for a more inclusive future. From championing neurodiversity to mentoring with empathy and launching inclusive initiatives, our students and alumni continue to inspire lasting change.
This year’s alumni award winners include:
LGBTQIA+ Champion – Recognising impactful leadership in LGBTQIA+ inclusion and advocacy.
Winner: Paul Amann (pictured in featured image) (MBA 2006)
Paul said, “Absolutely thrilled and deeply honoured to be recognised as an LGBTQIA+ Champion in the EQ+ Awards. It’s a humbling and full circle moment, and I'm incredibly grateful to the University and the amazing community I'm privileged to be a part of, and of course the allies across our communities who make so much possible by standing up and not being bystanders. It was particularly heartening and inspiring to hear from other nominees and realise how commitment to EDI is being taken forward in safe hands.”
Greatest Contribution to EDI – Celebrating a graduate who has made a lasting and significant impact in advancing equality, diversity, and inclusion at the University.
Winner: Ellie Marlow (English Language and Literature 2022)
Ellie said, “Honoured, humbled, and very grateful to be named the winner of the Greatest Contribution to EDI award at the University of Liverpool EQ+ Awards. I am most proud of being named amongst so many others who are making real change happen, for themselves and for others.”
Stephanie Barney, Founder of social enterprise, Girls on the Go was also Highly-Commended for the Exceptional Entrepreneur Award.
Congratulations to all the winners and those nominated.
