11 amazing University of Liverpool graduates

We’re so proud of all of our graduates and love to hear about where life has taken you all since graduating – whether that day was last summer or 80 years ago. Ahead of this December’s graduation ceremonies, which are taking place on Monday, 9 December and Tuesday, 10 December 2024, we wanted to share a handful of University of Liverpool graduates who have gone on to achieve a lot in their fields.

2. Nobel Prize Winner, Professor Charles Barkla BSc (Hons) Maths 1898, MSc 1901, Hon LLD 1931

Awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1917 for discovering the electromagnetic properties of X-rays.

3. US Federal Judge, The Honourable Wendy Beetlestone

Judge Wendy Beetlestone was formally installed as our new Chancellor in this summer’s graduation celebrations.

4. Award winning social entrepreneur, Lucky Ali

Lucky Ali launched Lucy’s Café, a purpose-driven café that changes life through food, community and education.

10. Nobel Peace Prize winner, Professor Sir Joseph Rotblat

Awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1995 for his efforts with nuclear disarmament.
