Celebrating 100 years of architectural excellence: University of Liverpool School of Architecture alumni reunion
This year the University of Liverpool School of Architecture (LSA) celebrates 100 years since the first 1924 course validation by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). Through validation, the RIBA identifies courses and examinations which achieve the standards necessary to prepare students for professional practice.
To honour this milestone, in partnership with RIBA, a keynote speech will be delivered by the 2024 Royal Gold Medallist Lesley Lokko, on Wednesday 20th March at the Leggate Theatre, Victoria Gallery & Museum, University of Liverpool. This will be live streamed into a parallel event in the school.
The lecture is complemented by a series of events for alumni over a two-day programme on 20th and 21st March 2024, with contributions by LSA alumni, staff and students.

“Validation comes in many guises – from professional validation of competency to personal affirmations of worth. Social media has turned it into an art form, but there’s no substitute for the validation of one’s peers. It’s a critical and necessary part of growth, not to be confused with approval. It’s an honour to have been asked to give this important lecture.” – Professor Lesley Lokko
