Welcome to your autumn 2020 edition of your alumni newsletter. It’s been a busy time at the University of Liverpool as we prepare to welcome students safely back to campus. In this edition, we are pleased to let you know that we recently achieved a rise in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings for 2021, and we are excited to bring you the latest alumni and community news, as well as invite you to an array of interesting online events for you join us at.

This builds on our significant rise in position in the previous year’s THE rankings, along with our strong performance in other sector league tables and measures. We hope that through our ongoing success you continue to have a sense of pride in your alma mater.

Jon Snow supports our COVID-19 Student Fund

With many students facing unprecedented financial difficulty, nearly 140 donors have helped the University to raise more than £160,000 to support them. Award winning journalist and former University of Liverpool student, Dr Jon Snow (Hon LittD, 2011) has supported the fund to help students through this difficult time.

Pet clinic celebrates 15 years of helping animals shed the pounds

The University of Liverpool’s Royal Canin Weight Management Clinic is celebrating its 15th birthday. Since it was opened in 2005, the clinic has helped almost 500 cats and dogs to shed almost two tonnes of their body weight.
