Sam Butler

Before graduation Sam served twice as Guild President. He now lives in Greater Manchester and is a solicitor and partner at Counterculture Partnership LLP, working in the cultural, education, charity, and public sector.

As a student, Sam served two terms as President of Liverpool Guild of Students. His term in office was highlighted by the £14.5m refurbishment of the Guild premises which saw the building given a new lease of life.

After graduation, Sam has continued to contribute to the University. He served on the inaugural Alumni Board, and twice served on Council. He has also volunteered his time to help University Law students and has contributed to the Student Hardship fund and Yoko Ono Lennon Centre. Sam also sat on the panel for the inaugural Alumni Awards in 2020.

Sam is a solicitor and partner at Counterculture Partnership LLP, a firm specialising in providing advice to organisations in the education, arts, cultural and third sector.

He serves as a social mobility ambassador for the Law Society and served as a Local Councillor on Bury Council between 2021 and 2022.
