Mark Swift

Mark is a social entrepreneur with 20 years’ experience working with, and for, the public sector. His work focuses on health and social innovation and systems change.

Mark is the Founder and CEO of Wellbeing Enterprises (WE) CIC, an award-winning social enterprise launched in 2005. Their mission is to help people achieve healthier, happier and longer lives. They do this by educating and supporting the general public, mobilising the assets in communities, and working with partners to tackle the underlying causes of poor health.

Mark is a passionate advocate of the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector and the role it could play transforming health and care services.

He has earned multiple awards, such as the Health Service Journal award in 2015. Working in partnership with NHS Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals, Wellbeing Enterprises are currently delivering a service which aims to revolutionise the care provided to people living with Long Covid in the Halton area.

Mark was nominated for the Community Impact Award in the distinguished Merseyside Independent Business Awards for its work supporting people and communities in the Liverpool City Region. He was also selected as one of the winners of the Europe wide Reimagining Community Health Challenge led by Ashoka and the Johnson & Johnson Foundation.

He is currently a visiting fellow of the Heseltine Institute for Public Policy, Practice and Place at the University.
