Okeoghene Ekere

The Nigerian Alumni Association is one of the most active in the global alumni network. Working with last year’s Alumni Award winner Faith Osiobe, the success of the Association is down to a team effort, and our winners Joy Duncan, Okeoghene Ekere, Uruemu Esiri Oghen, Queen Elizabeth Okwum and Lola Olaide-Stephen are receiving their awards in recognition of great team work.

Oke is currently studying for a doctoral degree and has been a very active and supportive team member of the Port Harcourt/South South and East zone of the network since its inception.

Helping to highlight the work of the University in the country and beyond, she has made it possible for the network to thrive and has showcased her alma mater far and wide. She said: “Based on the impact of my learning experience during my MBA, I personally embarked on an awareness campaign of the University which led to some colleagues of mine to take up the programme. This same passion continued as I was made Secretary of Association in my zone where we work at keeping the brand growing in Nigeria.”

Faith said: “Oke is very resourceful and hardworking, she is there to fly with any ideas and initiatives I put forward and is very deserving of this award.”
