Lola Olaide-Stephen

The Nigerian Alumni Association is one of the most active in the global alumni network. Working with last year’s Alumni Award winner Faith Osiobe, the success of the Association is down to a team effort, and our winners Joy Duncan, Okeoghene Ekere, Uruemu Esiri Oghen, Queen Elizabeth Okwum and Lola Olaide-Stephen are receiving their awards in recognition of great team work.

After graduation Lola started a business improvement consultancy firm focusing on corporate processes, reengineering and strategy formulation.

When not working, she supports youths and teenagers by providing career guidance and counselling support, saying her time at the University gave her the expertise helping to broaden her knowledge and gain information from interactions with cross-cultural and multi-functional colleagues.

Lola assists the Nigerian Alumni Association by giving talks and helping to manage the alumni lecture series in the Lagos/South West zone, as well as planning and executing a number of projects and events in the network. Faith said: “Lola is an active member of the team, so much so that we call her ‘Prof’!”

She also took the initiative to establish a quarterly in-house online discussion on global and national topical issues of interest, specifically in the area of world economy, health and estates and wills. More recently she has helped with the distribution of COVID-19 medical essentials to two hospitals within the Lagos area.
