Class Notes
1980s
Robin Hargreaves (BVSc 1985)
After an impressive 39 years in primary care veterinary practice, including an estimated 2,700 nights on duty, Robin retired from clinical work in 2024. He and his wife Lorna, whom he met while at the School and has been married to for 37 years, now enjoy time with their two children and two grandchildren. A former President of the British Veterinary Association (2013–14), Robin continues to work part-time in telehealth for a Swedish pet insurance company. At home, he and Lorna are currently managing a small field as a wildlife refuge.
1990s
Caroline Murray (BVSc 1997)
Caroline continues her globe-spanning career, working across a mix of paid veterinary and charity roles with a wide range of species. Based in New Zealand, she is involved in civil defence and animal disaster preparedness, rescue and response. Most recently, she spent time as a Veterinary Officer in the Falkland Islands, undertaking James Herriot–style work across the main and outlying islands, inspecting international fishing vessels, supporting military working dogs, and monitoring seabirds (including penguins) during the avian influenza outbreak. She is currently enjoying a “career break” while working as a tour guide, radio presenter, and local newspaper journalist.
2010s
Katie Ford (BVSc 2012)
Katie has been awarded a Fellowship of the RCVS for Meritorious Contributions to the Veterinary Profession, a fantastic achievement recognising her impact and leadership in the field.
2020s
Hayley Bamford (BVSc 2025)
Hayley is thrilled to be starting her dream job as a small animal veterinary surgeon.

Dr Elizabeth Leece (BVSc 1994), a deeply respected colleague and friend to many.
Dr Agnes Winter (BVSc 1965), one of our most esteemed professors and an international expert in sheep medicine.
