My name is Tina Evans and I've been afforded the great priviledge of being the Alumni Ambassador for New York City and the East Coast of the United States.
My background is such; I obtained a BS Human Services from SUNY Empire State College, and then in 2008 MBA from the University of Liverpool, but what is interesting about my MBA is that I obtained this through the online program. I choose the non-traditional route, as the demands of work and family would not allow for the more tradional classroom setting. I am currently a Senior Trust Administrator with TD Wealth Management in New York City. My husband and I own and breed Thoroughbred Race Horses, which we currently race in the United States. I live in Jersey City, New Jersey with my husband Wayne and our children - Joseph, who resides in New York, Beth, and Dale who resides in the Chester (UK) area.
The Metro-New York area and along what I call the I-95 corridor between Washington, DC and Boston, has a very large alumni presence. The most difficult task at hand is to indentify alumni and being able to organise events based upon geographically location. Being the Alumi Ambassador, it is important for me to meet other alumni and discuss what it is they need from the Alumni Association here in the US. Through networking events at both the social and professional levels, Alumni can come together and have a good time, discuss what is on their minds and provide feedback as to what further services the Unversity and the Alumni Association can do for them. The biggest challenge overall is event participation and the types of events alumni would be interested in attending.
I look forward to hearing from each and everyone of you about what events you would like to plan or attend, and ideas you have about how to promote the University here in the United States.
