Liverpool alumni recognised in Queen’s Birthday
Congratulations to the following alumni and honorary graduates of the University who have been recognised in the 2013 Queen’s Birthday Honours list:
Jonathan Falkingham (BA Hons Architecture, BArch Hons 1988)
Architect, co-founder and Creative Director of Liverpool-based architecture firm Urban Splash, Jonathan has received an MBE for services to architecture and urban regeneration (pictured above)
Professor Nicky Cullum (BSc Hons Pharmacology 1984, PhD Pharmacology 1990)
Professor of Nursing at the University of Manchester, Nicky Cullum has been made a Dame for her services to nursing research and wound care.
Dr Paul Cuthbertson (MBChB 1965)
Chairman of Wirral Hospice St John's in Cheshire, Dr Cuthbertson has been awarded an MBE for services to palliative care, having helped to establish the hospice in the 1980s.
Rosemary Campbell (BA Hons Sociology 1988, MA Women’s Studies 1992)
Rosemary, former Board Member and Chair of the UK Network of Sex Work Projects (UKNSWP), has been awarded an OBE for services to vulnerable women.
Dr Peter Bounds (Hon LLD 2009)
Dr Bounds, Former Chief Executive of Liverpool City Council, was awarded a CBE for services to the community in the city of Liverpool.
Professor Hermione Lee (Hon LittD 2002)
Professor Lee, President of Wolfson College, Oxford, and former Goldsmiths' Professor of English Literature, was awarded a DBE for services to literary scholarship.
